PROBABLY JOSEON DYNASTY, 19TH CENTURYThe pear-shaped body raised on a short foot, the surface with a creamy-white slip incised with horizontal lines and with two large leafy sprays of ginseng painted to both sides, together with a wood box inscribed with Gyeryongsan (referring to the kiln where it was produced), 23.5cm. By repute, formerly in the collection of Jun Itami (1937-2011), an architect renowned in Korea and Japan for his primitive-style buildings and his use of raw materials.
