MB&F will provide a free service and one year warranty following the purchase at Christie’s Note: Serial numbers are available upon request.品相: Horological Machine No. 6 ‘Space Pirate’MB&F’s sixth Horological Machine, the HM6 ‘Space Pirate’, is an extraordinary timepiece with one-minute flying tourbillon that is “designed to operate in the hostile environment of space – the space on your wrist”. The ‘Space Pirate’ was limited to a total of 100 pieces across the entire period and range of production. The present example is presented in superb condition and is accompanied by the full set of accessories including the specially designed ‘space module’ fitted box. The quite remarkable HM6’s gentle sweeping curves made in aeronautic grade Ti-6Al-4V titanium and its 10 spherical crystals encapsulating free-moving parts of the movement and time indications, give the watch the appearance of almost being like a living thing, an extra-terrestrial life form. The four corners of the biomorphic case are formed as 360° spheres capped on both the top and bottom by transparent sapphire crystal domes. The two front spheres display the hours and minutes rotating vertically, at the back, twin turbines spin horizontally which regulate the automatic winding system. The 68 jewel movement was developed exclusively for the HM6 by MB&F in collaboration with David Candaux Horlogerie Créative and has a 72 hour power reserve. The most fascinating aspect is however the finely crafted flying tourbillon within the central sapphire crystal dome. A retractable domed shield composed of four overlapping curved blades that is activated by the crown covers the tourbillon, designed to protect the tourbillon for UV radiation, when it opens and closes the effect is of a blinking eye.
