He served on various boards including Liberty Bank and the charter board of Aloha Airlines. His wife Mrs. Lilly Hee Au (1920-2021) was an elementary school teacher, amitted educator who served as the president of the renowned education society Pi Lambda Theta established in 1910. The couple travelled to Taiwan many times, and acquired these beautiful paintings directly from the artist during one of their trips in 1965.
