A PAIR OF SILVER MOUNTED SPINACH-GREEN JADE BOWLSTibet, late 19th century. Each with rounded sides rising to a slightly everted rim and fitted with silver mountings to mouth and foot, one beautifully engraved and embossed with Buddhist elements and the other with animals. The translucent and streaked spinach-green stone brilliantly polished.Condition: Good condition with minor wear, the stone with natural fissures. The silver with small nicks and dents here and there.Provenance: The collection of The Zelnik Istvan Southeast Asian Gold Museum. Institutional art collection in Belgium, acquired from the above. Dr. Istvan Zelnik, President of the Hungarian South and Southeast Asian Research Institute, is a former high-ranking Hungarian diplomat who spent several decades in Southeast Asia, building the largest known private collection of Asian art in Europe.
