A RED LACQUER 'BOYS' BOX AND COVER, 1900sChina, late Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) to Republic period (1912-1949). Of circular form with rounded sides, the cover carved in high relief with three boys playing on a terrace, the sides molded with lotus sprays repeated on the sides of the circular box above the foot, the interior and base lacquered black.Condition: With minor wear and very few tiny losses to lacquer along the rims, the lower rim with a crack, otherwise good condition.Provenance: German private collection.
