The lacquered wood kodansu with silvered copper fittings, comprising of three drawers with metal cone handles, a larger drawer on the bottom and a door uncovering three drawers. The exterior decorated with gold takamaki-e, hiramaki-e and inlays of porcelain and ivory, depicting floral motifs, birds and butterflies, the backside with artist signature and kakihan.
