He was co-author of The Book of Talismans Amulets and Zodiacal Gems (1914) with his wife Kate. The book is a study of ancient symbols and the symbolism of precious stones and their use as magical objects throughout the ages. He had premises at 17 Hanover Square, W. LondonAccording to his book the symbols on this ring would provide the wearer protection against evil, happiness, longevity amongst other things.
