Of circular form, decorated in bright shades of underglaze blue, painted to the centre with a scene of two ladies, an official and a monk in a garden, the monk wearing mediation beads and holding both a fly-whisk and an open fan, one lady also holding an open fan, the official resting a closed fan on his shoulder, all beside a building with a chequered floor and curved tiled roof and below a tree with blossoms, lotus issues from rockwork in the foreground, all encircled around the rim with tulip-shape panels, each containing alternately either a robed figure, a peony spray or waterfowl. Together with another pair of plates, also decorated in blue and white, painted to the centre with chrysanthemum and peony issuing from rockwork, and petal-shaped panels enclosing floral sprays around the rim. Period: Kangxi (1662‑1722). Diameter: 28‑35 cm.
