A good early 20th century carved mahogany table clock, dated 1902Clifford Lupton, Cornhill London, 1902The architectural case with ogee top enriched by fern and fleur de lys carving above freestanding Doric columns, upper quadrant leaf mouldings, a glazed front door and a fretted rear on a moulded plinth with block feet. The signed silvered dial with delicate frond engraving surrounding a Roman chapter ring with blued steel spade hands, framed by a silvered sight ring. The substantial five pillared twin chain fusee movement signed with makers name, address and date, with labelled pendulum and anchor escapement with Harrison's maintaining power, rack striking the hours and half hours on a robust coiled blued steel gong. Ticking and striking, together with a winding key and case key. 23cms (9ins) high.
