Further signed for the U.S. MARITIME COMMISSIONThe three part case with brass corners to the top lid, set internally with a printed diagram of the balance wheel locking device, the centre section with slide catch button above a brass plate engraved Hamilton Watch Co. Lancaster, PA., U.S.A. and number plate 2E10421, the lower section with brass sliding catch and folding handles, with brass dust lip to the interior. The 4-inch silvered Arabic dial with subsidiaries for 48-hour power reserve, running seconds and blued steel hands. The movement with striped nickel finish, four tapered pillars and maintaining power to the chain fusee, free sprung helical balance spring with jewel endstone and Earnshaw type escapement, timing screw compensated balance, with typical bayonet fitting dust cap sitting in a weighted, gimballed bowl.
