罗汉，为佛陀得道弟子，皆了脱生死，证入涅盘。于寿命未尽前，仍住世间，梵行少欲，戒德清净，随缘教化度众，罗汉藉由教化众生得道，而非依靠自身冥想顿悟，遂其果位仅低于佛与菩萨，列第三等。据佛家经典，佛陀由罗汉随同，其数或五十，或五百，或倍于此，然多为概指，暗喻人数众多，于中国艺术之中，约定俗成以用。
此组罗汉以铜为材，展示辩经动态，巧妙捕捉罗汉在不同情境的神情，精妙独到，灵动精采，可以想见其蜡模的雕刻也一定是极为精细，所雕衣带飘逸极富动感，袈裟宽领处细琢花纹，并间或鎏金装饰。众尊者样貌各异，性格鲜明，细致传神，自成一格，保存完好，诚可宝藏。
