New Kingdom, Ca. 1550-1070 BC Finely modelled in the form of human-headed Imsety, one of the Four Sons of Horus, guardian of the liver wearing a beard with a curled tip and voluminous wig, the face with outlined eyes, full lips and large ears. The jar preserves three columns of carefully and beautifully drawn hieroglyphs, engraved and enhanced with black pigment, of which a substantial amount remains. Translating: " To the Lord of the Two Lands and Heliopolis, Ptah-Skaris-Osiris, and Anubis, Lord of the Sacred Land (Necropolis), that they may given an invocation offering (consisting) of bread, oxen and fowl!".
