ROMERO BRITTO (Brazil, 1963)."Monopoly".Limited edition, 672/2000.Collector's item. From 2 to 6 players.Silver player pieces.Hand signed and numbered.Measurements: 73,5 x 73,5 x 5 cm.Romero Britto is known for being the ambassador of "Happy Art", and it is no wonder when you see his colourful and carefree works that draw from cubism, pop art and street art.He uses vibrant, bold and colourful patterns to reflect his optimistic view of the world around him, creating a visual language all his own. Self-taught at an early age, it was his trip to Paris that would allow him to meet his sources of inspiration, Matisse and Picasso. His appreciation of these masters influenced him to create his iconic style which, according to The New York Times, "exudes warmth, optimism and love".Britto's work has been exhibited in galleries and museums in over 100 countries, including the Salon de la Societe Nationale des Beaux Arts exhibition at the Carrousel du Louvre in 2008 and 2010. He has created public art installations for the 02 Dome in Berlin, John F. Kennedy Airport in New York, Cirque Du Soleil at Super Bowl XLI, and is credited with the largest monumental sculpture in the history of London's Hyde Park. Britto was the official artist of the 2010 World Cup, an ambassador for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil and was recently invited to be an honorary torchbearer for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. Britto's pop sensibility has since lent itself to many collaborations with international brands such as Audi, Bentley, Coca-Cola, Walt Disney, Evian, Hublot and Mattel, to name a few.
