ALEJANDRO VILADRICH (Buenos Aires, 1957)."Presencia paisana", 2003.Oil and plaster on panel.Signed, dated and justified on the back.Measurements: 70 x 50 cm; 74 x 54 cm (frame).Grandson of the Catalan painter Miguel Viladrich and son of the Argentinean sculptor Wifredo Viladrich, Alejandro trained at the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Aires Prilidiano Pueyrredón, after working as his father's assistant, patinating and casting sculptures until 1976. In 1979 he furthered his training at the Río de la Plata workshop with Alberto Delmonte and Jorge Rivara, and the following year he joined Delmonte's Taller Sur, thus initiating an Americanist orientation along the lines of Torres García. To date he has participated in most of the group exhibitions organised by this workshop. Since 1981 he has combined his artistic practice with teaching. He is currently represented in the MUMA in Buenos Aires, the Museo de Arte Abstracto Al Sur, the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo Latinoamericano and other collections, both public and private.
