Titled on the back.Measurements: 65 x 50 cm; 72 x 57 cm (frame).Miguel Ángel was one of the most active and recognised artists in the city of León. He began his artistic studies in 1948, with Víctor de los Ríos and later with Francisco Espinos in Madrid. In the capital he continued his artistic education at the Circulo de Bellas Artes, where he exhibited for the first time in 1967. His work was characterised by his aesthetic beginnings in which he practised photographic realism, although he later developed a style of painting closer to expressionism. In 1990 he was awarded the Caja España prize for painting for his work "Dos Viajantes" (Two Travellers). Throughout his career he has combined his facet as a painter with his work as a teacher, although in 2003 he suffered a stroke which paralysed part of his body, a fact which did not prevent him from continuing to paint.
