In this canvas the author offers us a mountain landscape at the same time daily and idyllic, with a monastery hidden among the undergrowth. He also gives prominence to the vegetation and the trees that appear on the mountain. This landscape is painted with a markedly atmospheric accent, based on a delicate treatment of colour and the study of natural light. The Catalan school has a great tradition and mastery in landscape painting. Firstly, its proximity to France linked them through friendships with Impressionist artists, who exerted a certain influence on the Catalan school.
