Carlos IV commode. Spain, last quarter of the 18th century. Walnut and walnut root wood. Marquetry in lemonwood. Bronze fittings and handles. With key. Has faults. Needs restoration. Wear and tear due to use and the passage of time. Measurements: 98 x 130 x 60 cm. We are in front of a Louis XVI chest of drawers made entirely of walnut wood, with solid and forceful lines, and an architectural type structure. It is raised on four quadrangular legs, which insulate the piece of furniture from dirt and humidity, on which a moulding supports the main body. This is structured into three large drawers, which occupy the entire front of the chest of drawers, and two smaller drawers in the upper area. All the drawers have gilt metal locks, flanked by two handles on the sides, and herringbone decorations in lemongrass marquetry.
