**Originally Listed At $400** Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 2nd century CE. A beautiful dish of a petite size formed from nearly transparent glass of a virtually colorless hue. The circular dish has a round but stable base and a shallow basin surrounded by a thick, rolled rim. Miniscule dishes like this example were perhaps not used for dining purposes but rather for holding scarce cooking ingredients, cosmetic materials, or even medicinal components meant for combining with other substances.
