Ca. 18th-19th century AD.A rare subject, in a museum quality intaglio pendant, oval-shaped, depicting a shepherdess facing right, standing over her sheep, wearing a stola and holding crook in her left hand. The pendant is over-shaped formed of silver, with a loop at the top for attachment to a chain. Fine condition with excellent detail.Size: L:35mm / W:23mm; 11.1g.Provenance: Central London private collection of Ancient Art and jewellery; acquired from an East Coast, US estate collection formed before 1979.
