Mid Qing Dynasty |The first of a reddish-brown clay, with buff-clay-applied formal cloud collar decoration at the shoulder and foot and stylised mythical beasts, with metal replacement lid and spout; the second, of dark brown clay with applied 'Shou' symbols and formal lotuses, the lid with applied waves; and a third cylindrical teapot and cover, of dark brown clay applied with buff clay 'Shou' roundels and stylised chilong dragons.|The largest: 19.3cm (7 5/8in) wide (6).|Provenance: The one with metal replacement spout and lid, purchased from 'Lorenz John' on 18 March 1987 (collector's note).A teapot of similar form to the 'qilin' teapot and with similar flower head to the 'lotus' teapot is in the collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum, no.
