Mid Qing Dynasty|Comprising two massive globular 'Squirrel and Grapevine' duanni teapots and covers with dark brown clay tree-form handles, finials and spouts, the bodies with applied brown clay squirrels amidst grapevines; and a dark brown 'prunus' teapot with duanni handle, spout and finial in the shape of a prunus branch, and applied prunus blossoms at either side of the handle and finial.|The largest: 17.5cm (10 3/4in) wide (6).|Provenance: the largest teapot acquired from Sotheby's in the 1970s (by repute), lot 304 (catalogue page).An identical teapot to the 'prunus' one is in the Victoria and Albert Museum collection, inv. no. C.34&A-1947, where dated 1720-60.
