A TSAKALI OF YELLOW JAMBHALATIBET (TAKLUNG), 12TH/13TH CENTURY Distemper and gold on paper. Himalayan Art Resources item no. 1425 4 x 3 1/4 in. (10.2 x 8.3 cm) 西藏(達隆) 十二/十三世紀 微型黃財神畫像 Tsaklis are Buddhist or Bon ritual miniature paintings made on paper, cloth, or woodblock prints,monly referred to as 'initiation cards'. Averaging between 8 to 18 centimeters in size, these paintings usually follow a unique iconographic program depicting buddhas, bodhisattvas, protector deities, siddhas, lamas, attributes, or ritual objects as a fully contained set. That being said, aplete set is rare toe by, though the initial arrangement would have outlined a specific sequencing for the associated ritual practice.
