Ca. 500-400 BC. A beautiful gold finger ring with a pointed lozenge-shaped bezel and a round-section hoop. The bezel is skilfully engraved with a depiction of a right-facing bull. The lines of the bull are crisp and precise, depicting its muscular physique in very fine detail. The animal was delicately carved, with each stroke and line carefully executed to create a lifelike figure. The bull's eyes were portrayed with great skill, conveying a sense of calmness and power. The intricate engraving on the rest of the animal was also immaculate, with every hoof, and a tuft of fur depicted with incredible precision. The entire piece radiated with the skill and finesse of an experienced artist, making it a true masterpiece. The bull was commonly associated with strength, power, and fertility, and was often used to represent the god Zeus in both sculpture and art. Gisela M. A.
