A JADE CARVING OF A RECUMBENT DEER, c. 1900sChina, Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) to Republic period (1912-1949). Finely carved as a recumbent deer with its legs tucked underneath the body, its head looking straight ahead with long, gently curved ears, and with a hole underneath the antlers for suspension. The translucent stone is of a pale-yellow tone with russet shadings. Condition: Good condition with minor surface wear, few minuscule nicks here and there, and the stone with natural fissures and imperfections, Provenance: European private collection.
