A YELLOW GLASS ‘CAPARISONED ELEPHANT’ SNUFF BOTTLE, c. 1920sChina, late Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) - Republic period (1912-1949). Of compressed globular form and in shape of a caparisoned elephant with its feet tucked under, supporting the bottle, the neck encircled with a band of stiff leaves, the saddlecloth incised with a key-fret border and diaper patterns.Condition: Very good condition, minor wear, the glass with a hairline inherent to manufacturing, open bubbles, few minor nibbles to the upper rim.
