There is a Vose Galleries of Boston label attached to the verso. This painting depicts a member of the Thompson family, and the lot includes an American flag, inscribed "J.A. Thompson, 1896," which reputedly belonged to him.Provenance: Directly from artist; descended through family. Condition Good condition, light surface scratch along the left quadrant, minor paint loss along the extreme lower quadrant.
