A rectangular steatite(?) mould pair with chamfered edges, the large faces with engraved chequerboard pattern, edges with bands of hatched lozenges, inside with spherical recesses for moulding musket balls in two different sizes; pouring and vent holes to the sides. 245 grams total, 52mm (2"). Property of a Mayfair lady; formerly in an important London collection formed since 1965. [2] Fine condition.
