3rd-2nd millennium AD. A mixed group of drum-shaped stone stamp seals, including eleven accompanied by an old scholarly note, typed and signed by W.G. Lambert, late Professor of Assyriology, University of Birmingham, 1970-1993 which state: (R-814) 'Stamp seal of Lapis Lazuli 10.5 x 10.5 x 8 mm. This is ma round thick disc, with flat faces and originally vertical sides, through which it is pierced. The designs on both sides are composed of dots achieved with the drill. The one side apparently shows a curling snake, the other a simplified swastika. This comes from west central Asia and dates to c. 2300-2000 B.C. It is worn, but the dots remain entirely clear' (R-35) 'Bifacial Stamp Seal of Black Stone with Red Vein, 10 x 9 x 5 mm. This is a round disc, perforated, with designs on both sides. The one is a kind of whirligig, the other perhaps a bird on the wing and a variety of items in a semicircle beneath it. This comes from west central Asia and dates to 2300-1800 B.C. It is very worn, but much of the design is clear.' (R-70) 'Bifacial Stamp Seal of Lapis 9.5 x 9.5 x 4 mm. It is in very good condition.' (R-64) 'Bifacial Stamp Seal of Fawn Stone 123 x 13 x 6 mm. This is a round disc pierced for suspension with designs on both faces done with the drill alone. The one side shows a plant with central stem and two shoots rising from ground level. The other has a design something like a swastika.
