Canton, around 1680 / 1720. high quality showcase with

pedestal. Frame with feet in the shape of compressed drops, merging into slender legs and rectangular frame. These and the legs are set with a maroon background and fitted with white cartouches, which serve as a basis for loose exotic flower arrangements. The case of rectangular shape with hinged lid and lock with lock plate in butterfly shape with chased wings. Two carrying handles on the side. All sides with rectangular ivory-filled cartouches, mostly with floral decoration. Lid outside with engraved nephrite plate, wallpapered on the inside or with incrustations depicting a love scene in an abstract garden in a kind of pietra dura technique for which Guangzhou (canton) was famous. Decorated all around with rectangular ivory-filled cartouches, outside lid with engraved nephrite panel, lined on inside and incrustation of a love scene in an abstract garden in a type of pietra dura technique, renowned for the canton of Guangzhou.
