Paris, Louis XV period, around 1750. Oak
body with French aventurine lacquer finish. Panels Cantonese export product in black lacquer with decoration in gold, red and brown. Interior veneer in cherry and ebony. Bronze fittings cast, chased and fire-gilded. The surface-mounted cover panels in Campan Mélangé marble. Three-legged, standing in ormolubronzesabots, straight legs slightly retracting above the knees. Curved front with lambrequin frame with plastic rocailles and black lacquer panels above showing figures in a water landscape. The curved marble tops follow the lines of the furniture.

Note:
Jacques Dubois (master from 1742) died in 1763 and left the workshop to his son René Dubois (1737-1799), who also continued his father's stamp.

A lacquer chest of his hand is kept in the Musée Carnavalet, created in 1745. Another chest of drawers (also around 1750) as well as a Bureau plat for Marie Leczinska are today kept in the Musée du Louvre in the Grande salle Louis XV (1221554) (13)
