Ebonized solid wood. Lower body standing on four pressed spherical feet with two frontal doors, each divided into three rectangular cartouches, finely inlaid with differently coloured flower arrangements and insects, heightened with white elfin inlays. Frame with all-round band decoration. Upper body with large glass door and two side glass panels. Interior upholstered in wine-red velvet. The all-round ribbons are inlaid in small white flowers inlaid with ivory and ornamentally used flower bands. Overhanging profiled cornice. Two keys present.note:
Charles Hunsinger (1823-1893) settled in Paris as an Ebenist, he received the gold medal at the great exhibition in Brussels in 1881. One of his cabinets is kept in the Musée d'Orsay. (1221368) (13)
