A stained oak, horn, and silver plate mounted coat hook, late 19th/early 20th century, possibly American, each horn issuing from an oval backplate mounted with a shield cartouche and a hook, 28cm high, 48cm wide, and a pair of mounted horns, modern, probably from long horn cattle, the central portion clad with cow hide, mounted on a pine cartouche, 113cm wide overall Condition Report: The smaller example has some marks, scratches and knocks to the wood and a handful of small chips to the edges, as well as some patination to the horn and metal consistent with age.
