He was accepted by Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts in 1933, learning after Liu Haisu, Huang Binhong, Pan Tianshou, Wang Shengyuan, etc. He was a librarian of Culture and History Institution of Shanghai and council member of Wenzhou Artists Association. Masterpieces are Chunxiang, Cai Lou Pei, etc.
