11th-7th century BC. Group of carved stone stamp seals, all with original typed and signed scholarly notes by the late W. G. Lambert, Professor of Assyriology at the University of Birmingham, 1970-1993 and accompanied by museum quality impressions comprising: Syria (4), with notes: 'Stamp seal of white stone (limestone), 16 x 19 x 10mm., a scaraboid. Recumbent stag, bird on wing and another item. Syria, c. 800-600 B.C.'; Stamp seal of grey stone (limestone), 16 x 10 x 12mm. The reverse presents a hedgehog in the round. The face shows a crescent with streamers on an elaborate stand. Syria, c. 800-600 B.C.'; 'Stamp seal of pink stone (agate), 18 x 18 x 13mm., a hemispheroid. A person sits on a chair holding up a symbol. Syria, c. 1000-800 B.C.' and 'Stamp seal of fawn stone (jasper), 13 x 16 x 9mm. A scaraboid. Lion, bird on the wing above and moth. Syria, c. 1000-800 B.C.'; each accompanied by a museum-quality impression. 15 grams total, 16-19mm (1/2 - 3/4").
