1st millennium BC. The upper part of a ceramic figurine of a woman wearing a ruffled tunic; accompanied by a handwritten scholarly note by W.G. Lambert, late Professor of Assyriology at the University of Birmingham 1970-1993, which states: 'No. 34. Top part of clay figurine of woman wearing ruffler around neck and ruffled sleeves, hands on top of belly. Traces of black substance on head and elsewhere (paint? bitumen?).'; mounted on a custom-made display stand. 156 grams total, 12cm including stand (4 3/4"). Ex private London, UK, collection, 1970-1990; collection no.34.
