A carved limestone Early Dynastic II cylinder seal; an animal-headed man walking to the right with broad naked torso and a knee-length pleated or slit skirt; right arm by his side, with his left hand he holds the head of a caprid by its right horn; on the left an ibex, on the right a lion with bird's beak; accompanied by a museum-quality impression. 11.28 grams, 28mm (1"). From a private collection of seals and amulets, the property of a Canadian gentleman living in London; from his father's collection formed in the late 1960s to 1980s. [No Reserve]
