A carved schist frieze fragment depicting a crenellated band with figures below, three shown as male busts with ushnisha and luxuriant hair, one with a moustache and holding an alms bowl (perhaps bodhisattva Maitreya); remains of two more figures in outline; mounted on a custom-made stand. See Jongeward, D., Buddhist Art of Gandhara in the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, 2018. 4.9 kg, 30cm including stand (11 3/4"). Acquired on the London art market before 2000.
