A monochrome painting depicting two cowherders amongst a herd of cows; an elaborately dressed landlord to the right, giving instructions to the herders in front of a house, peacock perching on the roof; some blue detailing. 3 grams, 24.5 x 16.5cm (9 1/2 x 6 1/2"). From the Sidhu family collection; previously the property of the current owner’s late grandfather, chief scoutmaster for Kenya. The vendor writes 'The painting is from my grandfather, who has recently passed away. He was a prominent figure being chief scoutmaster for Kenya, migrating there from India in the 1940s, where he became charter president for the Lions club, all the art he purchased was in this time as he would travel back to his home village of Mohi, Punjab every year. My grandfather was headteacher all his life in Kenya, he has met the Queen on several occasions and was commended for his contribution to the scouts.' [No Reserve]
