A group of two bronze scabbard chapes comprising: one tongue-shaped with slot to each face, openwork lateral lobes to the obverse; one with reserved design including a nude female and vertical band of rosettes, geometric bands to the reverse, containing the end of the original leather scabbard with tunnel-stitched seam, moulded decoration. 58 grams total, 4-13.8cm (1 1/2 - 5 1/2"). From an important private family collection of arms and armour; acquired on the European art market in the 1980s, and thence by descent. [2, No Reserve]
