A George II mahogany candle stand, circa 1750, the circular top with raised edge, above the turned baluster stem, on three outswept tapering cabriole legs, terminating in pad feet, 54cm high, the top 28cm diameter Condition Report: Minor marks, scratches and abrasions, old chips and splits comensurate with age and use. Good original surface, very good depth of colour and patina throughout. Some very neat old repairs to the gallery edge of the top. Most or all appear to be where original elements have been knocked off and glued back into position rather than being replaced. An old split to the base of the stem where one leg joins it has an old neat repair and neat and small old peg joint to secure. No other breaks or splicing to legs.
