A George III mahogany candle stand, circa 1770, the circular 'pie crust' top above a fluted and acanthus carved turned baluster stem, on three acanthus carved outswept tapering cabriole legs, terminating in claw on ball feet, 52.5cm high, the top 35cm diameter Condition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches and abrasions commensurate with age and use. Some old splits and chips. Old neatly repaired split to base of stem with small nail/tack used to help secure. Filler applied to disguise the screws securing the block to the underside of the top.
