A George III mahogany urn stand, circa 1775, the rectangular top with serpentine galley, above a plain frieze incorporating a slide, on tapering rectangular legs terminating in brass caps, 70cm high, 26cm wide, 26cm deep For a remarkably similar stand see, Lyon & Turnbull, Five Centuries: Furniture, Paintings & Works of Art from 1600, 14th May 2019, Lot 140 (£1,625). Condition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches and abrasions commensurate with age and use. Some old minor splits and chips. Some old repairs. Glue residue visible to stretchers beneath top. Sun fading overall. Handle to slide is possibly later but in keeping with period taste. Some joins opening very slightly but stand is structurally solid overall.
