A large Brussels tapestry, 17th century, depicting the reading of the testament of Augustus, within an ornate border of fruit and flowers, with Roman eagle standards and other classical motifs, inscribed 'PAX:AUG' and 'VICAUG', 246cm wide 378cm high Provenance: Christie’s, ‘The Claudio Bravo Collection’, 13 July 2016, Lot 105. Condition report: Faded. Mounted on a backing. Some discolouration. Thin in places. Repairs in the sky. Later border. Thin down inner right border. Wear, tear and some fraying throughout.
