An extraordinary and fine Louis XV-style rosewood and kingwood secretaire en chiffonier, by Hopilliart, Paris c.1880, surmounted by a clock with a striking French drum movement and enamel dial inscribed 'Bugghen & Co A Paris, 1726' over two lidded compartments, a fall front with three dummy drawer fronts enclosing a writing surface and fitted interior, surrounded by sixteen short drawers, all with ornate gilt-bronze handles and mounts, paper label verso reading 'Hopilliart 12, rue...Peres, meubles... Anciens, Reparations', 148cm wide 43cm deep 205cm high Condition report: Ready for a new home. Some minor repairs and splits to veneers. Paper label verso damaged.
