A GEORGE IV PENWORK PEDESTAL GAMES TABLE CIRCA 1825 The sliding double sided panel top with games board to one side and a Chinoiserie village scene to the other 70cm high, the top 47 x 48cm Condition Report: There are marks, scratches, knocks and abrasions consistent with age and use. The top is in fact lift-out and reversible (rather than sliding) and sits within a raised, ebonised quarter section moulding. The painted decoration of the board is on paper laid down on the board and has a lacquered layer over it which is opaque, scratched or chipped in some areas. The paper has bubbled in some places, and is peeling away to some corners, with repairs in some places. The interior has one division/compartment. The ebonised paintwork to the table is chipped and scratched, with some overpainting. The triform base and paw feet have knocks and scratches. All that said, many of these comments on condition are only apparent on close inspection. Please see the additional photographs as a visual reference of condition. Condition Report Disclaimer
