An impressive imperial presentation cloisonné-enamel baluster vase By Ando Jubei, Meiji era (1868-1912), late 19th/early 20th century The body finely decorated in musen and silver wire with a plump sparrow about to alight on a leafy flowering stem hung with one ripe aubergine, the waisted neck with a large sixteen-petalled white kikumon (chrysanthemum crest) worked in gold wire, reserved on a pale-beige cream ground, applied with a silver rim and foot, signed on the base with the silver wire seal of Ando Jubei; with a cloth-covered storage box. 37cm (14½in) high.
