THE SEAL OF EMPEROR CHARLES VII WITH MATCHING BRASS BOX 18th century D. 13,5/16,5 cm Red wax seal with coat of arms and designation in a corresponding, round brass box with coat of arms engraving and monogram. Slight age damage. Property of a Thuringian noble family, formerly inventory of Poschwitz Castle. Karl Albrecht of Bavaria (1697 - 1745) from the House of Wittelsbach was elected Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire as Charles VII in 1742. He was the only non-Habsburg on the throne, but was married to Maria Amalia of Austria.
