底款：“大明宣德年制” 炉呈簋式，撇口，束颈，鼓腹下收，承外撇圈足，两侧对称置双狮首为耳，造型威严肃穆，毛发堆迭，刻画精细。炉身洒金片，璀璨烂漫。底部「大明宣德年制」楷书款，字体端正工整，字地平整，狮耳炉又称狮首彝炉，炉形多为簋式，器型仿自宋朝哥窑的炉器。狮的形象威猛雄健，气势慑人，也作为佛教文殊菩萨的坐骑，有降服邪魔的法力。据载，宣德皇帝以之颁赐兵部尚书及大提督等军职要员，概取勇武无双、百战不殆之意。
