A CARVED HARDWOOD FIGURE OF BUDDHA, MING DYNASTY China, 15th-16th century. Shown seated in dhyanasana on a three-stepped throne, his hands held above the lap in dhyanamudra, wearing simple loosely draped robes left open at the chest, the face with a contemplative expression flanked by elongated earlobes and with a small ushnisha in the forehead.

Provenance: United Kingdom trade.
Condition: Condition overall as expected and commensurate with age. Extensive wear, weathering, age cracks and losses, remnants of gilt, the figure has been applied with several coatings over the centuries and thus shows different layers of lacquer, naturally grown patina overall.

中國，十五至十六世紀。佛陀坐在三階寶座，雙手置於膝蓋上結禪定印，穿著簡單的寬鬆長袍，敞胸，臉上帶著沉思的表情，兩側是細長的耳垂，眉間有白毫。

品相：整體狀況符合預期並與年齡相稱。大面積磨損、風化、老化的裂縫和缺損、鎏金餘留，幾個世紀以來，一直有重複上漆，因此顯示出不同的漆層，包漿自然。
