Ca. 300-400 AD A disc-shaped pendant with a double beaded border enclosing a wreath of overlapping heart-shaped forms made of fine gold wires. The medallion is set with a sardonyx cameo of a nobleman, portrayed in the left profile. The reverse is decorated with an eight-petaled rosette executed in a repoussé technique. The item has undergone X-ray fluorescence analysis to confirm the metallurgical content suggesting its ancient origin and lack of modern trace elements.
